FAMILY DEVOTIONS
* Simply means praying together as a Family
Psalms 119:11
11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
1. Devotion provide communications with God.
Psalms 25:4-5
4Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
* The best way for you Family to get together is talking to each other.
2. Devotion quench Spiritual thirst
Psalms 42:1-2 1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3. Devotion advance Personal/Spiritual Growth
1 Peter 2:2
2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2 Peter 3:18
18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
4. Devotion provide daily comfort and encouragement
6. Devotion prepare us to share our Faith
Ephesians 5:1
1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
*Child imitates his father
7. Devotion shows respect for the author of the Bible
* The greatest compliment to pay an author is to say " I read your book!"
