OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR BROTHERS

Titus 3:1-8

1Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

4But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

v.2 "To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. "

1. A Responsibility to love unconditionally
1 John 4:11
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."

Mark 12:31
"And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."


There is a big difference between Christians and unbelievers
- unbelievers love other people because they are good, while Christians love other people whether he/she is bad or good. And that should be the character if you are really a Christian.

*It is the Christian Responsibility that the Lord has given us.

Consideration
Titus 3:2-3

2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

-to love your brother enough to allow him to be himself as long as there is no sin involved.

-Christians worst attitude: We judge rather than understand.

James 1:22
22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

2. A Responsibility to Restore

Galatians 6:1
1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

-Loving a Brother
-Reproving a Brother

Reproving means Rebuke

Proverbs 27:5
5Open rebuke is better than secret love.

"But don't forget our Responsibility is to "RESTORE"

MEEKNESS - means having the ability to cause great harm to someone yet choosing not to do so
